Game Of Thrones Season 7: 12 Most Anticipated Moments

1. The Dragonpit

Game of Thrones The Dragonpit

The Dragonpit sits atop Rhaenys's hill in King's Landing, a giant, cavernous structure. Maegor the Cruel ordered its building - on the site of a former Great Sept, which was destroyed by Balerion - as a place for the Targaryens to house their dragons. That they did until the Dance of the Dragons (even though housing them here stunted their growth), when it was reduced to a blackened ruin.

So what does this history lesson have to do with Season 7? Well, according to rumour (and it does appear to be true), the gates to the Dragonpit are going to open for the first time in a century.

Entering into the huge space will be a whole host of characters, in what will be the biggest meeting of major players Game of Thrones has seen since King Robert et al visited Winterfell back in Season 1, with a quick rundown of those present as follows:

Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, Bronn (!), Varys, Missandei, Cersei Lannister, Gregor Clegane, and Qyburn.

And they're just the ones who've been reported. Based on those names, you'd assume Jaime Lannister will be there too, and so will Sandor Clegane, plus potentially a few more. It's going to be one of the most epic sequences we've ever witnessed on the show.
