25. Ed Sheeran's Cameo

Ahead of the show's release, we learned that Ed Sheeran was going to be appearing in the penultimate season to become the latest musician to show up in the Seven Kingdoms.

In almost every other case, the bands - like Mastodon, Of Mice And Men and Coldplay, among others - were generally well-received in their roles, and nobody really batted an eye-lash. But then Sheeran turned up as a Lannister soldier, singing a song taken directly from George RR Martin's source no less - and the world goes mad.

Sure, it wasn't the best appearance, and it was slightly jarring to have him singing, but the online reaction to him appearing - which was typically hyperbolic - was just silly.
