Game Of Thrones Season 7: 7 Theories On How Gendry Will Return

2. He Joins Jon In The North

The Game of Thrones Season 7 didn't feature Gendry in any obvious manner, but he may well have been there hiding in plain sight. When we see the group of hardy souls who have seemingly journeyed Beyond-the-Wall and find themselves ready to do battle with wights, there's one among them (circled above) who appears to be wielding a very large hammer.

With so much talk of Gendry returning, there's a chance this is the man himself. After all, Robert Baratheon was famous for wielding a great warhammer, a weapon no one else really carries around. So if someone has a similar weapon, then there is logic in thinking it's Gendry.

Him heading North does make sense, too. His plan all along was to head to the Night's Watch, and maybe that's what he's finally done, only to realise he'll be getting a lot more than he bargained for. Maybe he heard that Davos was in the North, and went looking for him, since he's the only one to have ever been truly kind to him. Or perhaps, wanting to track down Arya, he goes to Winterfell and finds Jon instead, hears of the White Walkers, and is enlisted in the battle against them.
