Game Of Thrones Season 7: 7 Theories On How Gendry Will Return

1. He Returns To Dragonstone

There would be a wonderful (and hilarious) sense of irony if, after so many years missing, Gendry turned up in the exact same place we last saw him: Dragonstone.

Perhaps he just never got very far at all, maybe the wind turned him around and sent him back from whence he came, or he might've just missed the place and headed back there. But having Gendry at Dragonstone would be an interesting place for him to reappear.

For starters, that's where Daenerys is going to be making her base in Westeros. With a new potential Queen coming in, Gendry could find a new person to ally himself to, especially if he learned she wanted to conquer Cersei Lannister.

Varys is on Team Daenerys, and is one of the only people to know of Gendry's true identity - if the pair met again (and the Spider is probably capable of tracking him down), then Varys may recognise the potential worth of Gendry, a Baratheon, in winning support of their former bannermen.

Then there's Melisandre, who the trailer revealed will also be heading back to Dragonstone - maybe he wants some revenge against her?

Finally, there's the fact we're likely to see Jon and Davos arrive there to meet with Dany, so he could meet all of these characters at once, before choosing which of them to stick with.
