Game Of Thrones Season 7: 7 Winners And 6 Losers

7. Direwolves - Losers

Game of Thrones Nymeria Arya

The direwolves (in large part due to budgetary reasons) have long been badly served by the show, and that was certainly the case in Season 7. It was especially notable that as the dragons came to the fore, the creatures that serve as the emblem of the Starks and the North were pushed to the one side.

Nymeria made her long-awaited return, appearing for the first time since Season 1, and yet had just one scene before being written out completely. Even that was better than what Ghost received though, with Jon's direwolf - the one he's really close to and is an essential part of him - getting a passing mention and nothing else. He didn't go to Dragonstone, didn't go beyond the Wall, and didn't do anything at Winterfell either. At this rate, the show might as well just kill them off and be done with it. It definitely feels as though they'd like to.
