Game Of Thrones Season 7: 9 Big Questions After 'Beyond The Wall'

2. Will Cersei Believe Them?

So, they've captured a wight, and it's being taken back to present to Cersei Lannister as proof of the army of the dead and the need to band together. There's just one wrinkle with that, and it's not something any of them seem to have considered: will Cersei believe them?

Cersei has been going full Mad Queen, and what she wants is to hold on to power. She isn't likely to care about the perceived threat from the North - even if it does exist, many wave it away because the Wall still stands - and, while a wight is clearly a sign of something, it doesn't necessarily mean there's a Night King coming to bring death and destruction to all of Westeros.

The Queen is interested in only herself, so how can she spin this to her advantage? Is there anything to be gained from helping them? And that's if she accepts the proof they offer, which is far from certain.
