Game Of Thrones Season 7: 9 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Eastwatch'
1. Westeros All-Stars
The end of the episode brings together a Westerosi Dream Team - the Avengers, Suicide Squad, Magnificent Seven (Hells), whatever you want to call them - in quite brilliant fashion.
There aren't many scenes like this in the show, where so many fan-favourites are brought together at once for a very specific (and dangerous) mission. It feels like pure fantasy, something ripped more from the pages of Lord of the Rings than A Song of Ice and Fire, and works because of that. We don't often get to see this, so it makes it all the sweeter.
It's not just a gathering of heroes, either, but a group of people who have crossed paths with each other in various ways, and that's what makes it such a joy to watch. Gendry hates the Brotherhood for selling him to Melisandre, Tormund hates Jorah because his father hunted wildlings, and the Hound thinks they're all a bunch of c**ts. It's not just that there are so many characters, but that there's so much character, which makes this scene really pop with humour and excitement.
As for the idea though, well, it's pretty f**king terrible, and quite a few people are going to die because of it.
