9. Lannister Soldiers

Cause Of Death: Mostly burned to a crisp by Drogon, with others killed by the Dothraki (some of whom also perished).

These nameless soldiers serving in the Lannister army were ostensibly the 'bad guys', and yet the beauty of The Spoils of War is the way it made it unclear exactly which side we should be rooting for.

That gave their deaths some more impact, even without knowing who they were (and the Ed Sheeran scene helped in that regard too), but mostly the brilliance of this came from seeing Drogon in action. We've seen him before, but this was the best display of the 747-sized dragon's ferocious power.

The CGI was incredible, the cinematography stunning, and the way we witnessed the soldiers being burned was one hell of a harrowing spectacle, that only became better (if that's the right word) when you add in finally getting to see what the Dothraki are capable of in an open field.
