Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 10 Major Predictions For 'The Dragon And The Wolf'

2. But Jon Doesn't Learn The Truth

Jon surely has to learn the truth at some point. It's debatable how much it would change the character's trajectory, since he's set on fighting the White Walkers and has come a very long way since questioning his parentage back in Season 1, but it's too big for him to never know.

While it's been theorised that would occur in Season 7, and especially with this finale title, at this stage there just doesn't seem to be time for such a reveal in the episode (even with the mammoth run time).

Jon's going to be at King's Landing, and possibly Dragonstone too, with a lot of drama to get through. Even accounting for the speed of travel this year, it's too much for him to get through all of that, get up to Winterfell, and learn the truth from Bran.

It makes sense, too, that it'd be withheld for Season 8, if we get the Rhaegar flashback. That means Season 6 gave us the Lyanna part (after Season 5 dropped the biggest hints yet before that), Season 7 Rhaegar, and then Jon learns the truth in the eighth and final season.
