Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 10 Major Predictions For 'The Dragon And The Wolf'
5. And Sets Up Her Own Death
At the end of Season 6, I thought that Season 7 would be the year Cersei died (more specifically this very finale we're now approaching). There is still a chance of that happening in The Dragon And The Wolf, and it'd make for a hell of a shock, but with the direction Season 7 has taken it does feel a little too soon (even if they have been rushing certain developments).
This episode could, though, put the nail in her coffin even if death doesn't come until Season 8. Jaime wasn't present for her blowing up the Sept of Baelor, but he's going to have a front row seat to whatever her latest horrible scheme is.
Add in that fact that he'll be reunited with Brienne of Tarth at the Dragonpit, the woman who opens up the truly good side to him and believes in its existence like no one else does, and there'll be enough weight there to start turning Jaime against his sister for good.
He's saved the realm from one mad ruler, and he has long seemed destined to do it again, but the show keeps on having him dragged by to Cersei's side. Eventually he needs to break away, and if she is going to destroy the realm, and shows or tells that to him, then it might finally start to tip him over the edge.
