Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 11 Big Questions After 'The Dragon And The Wolf'

2. Where Will The First Battle Take Place?

Game Of Thrones The Wall
HBO

After a lot of foreshadowing and theorising, the Wall has finally fallen. It took an ice dragon to do it, and the sight of Viserion the Dead destroying the Wall with a blaze of blue flame is one of the most incredible sights of the series.

It means that the Night King, White Walkers, and army of wights are now in Westeros proper, and ready to lay waste to the land of the living. Season 8 will presumably see a number of battles fought between the living and the dead, but the first is going to be crucial. It'll establish stakes and just where the balance of power lies, but how and where will it happen?

Winterfell, even though it's in the North, is probably still a little too far away from the Wall, especially given the speed the army moves at. So could that mean the first battle takes place at the Gift, or otherwise maybe Last Hearth?

Cersei is happy staying in the South right now, assuming the fighting will just take place in the North, but how far will the army of the dead be able to make it into Westeros? Winter has reached King's Landing, but will the White Walkers?
