Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 11 Big Questions After 'The Dragon And The Wolf'
5. What's Going On With Tyrion?
While Jon is paying his late night visit to Daenerys, Tyrion is in the corridor, listening to the sounds of incest that must've plagued his adolescence. He doesn't look too happy, so what exactly is Tyrion thinking at this point?
One read on it is that it's jealousy. Peter Dinklage mentioned prior to Season 7 that Tyrion was "smitten" with his new employer, but that's not something we've really seen across the seven episodes. This scene is the only one that could possibly play to that, so is that the simple reason Tyrion is there? And if so, could it put him at loggerheads with the other two? It'd be a bit out of place for Tyrion, especially at this late stage, but would partially align with George R.R. Martin's early plan for a Jon/Arya/Tyrion love triangle (which thankfully never materialised).
The other possibility is that he thinks this is a bad idea politically, and that they shouldn't be forming a romantic relationship at this stage when Jon has just bent-the-knee to Daenerys (which happened without his knowledge, so he's already feeling a bit put-out). Or maybe he just gets his kicks listening to people have sex, but whatever the reason his appearance there should have some significance.
