Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 9 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Dragon And The Wolf'
1. RIP The Wall
It's a moment that's been heavily foreshadowed - in particular during this season, by the likes of Sansa and Archmaester Ebrose - and also one that had to happen at some point, if the Great War were to ever happen.
That, however, lessens absolutely none of the impact of seeing the Wall come down at the end of this episode.
As many theorised, it was the resurrected Viserion - ridden by the Night King - who burned down the Wall with a bedazzling blue flame. It's a stunner of a set-piece, one that's absolutely thrilling and horrifying at the same time, and propels us right into the final season.
The show also made sure to give us a human connection to this event, rather than it being purely spectacle, with the presence of Tormund and Beric. It helps establish the stakes even more, and once again puts those characters in grave danger. It's not clear whether or not they've survived, but since we didn't see it happen and they made it to a (possibly) safe part of the Wall, they probably have lived to fight another day.
