Game Of Thrones Season 7: Ranking The Probability Of 13 Major Character Deaths In 'Beyond The Wall'
7. Sandor Clegane
The Case For
He's gone beyond the Wall, so like all the others - especially those not called Jon Snow - his life is in serious danger. He's returned from the 'dead' and found a semblance of inner-peace, so the writers might think it's a fitting time for his arc to end as a hero, while it'd serve as a big shock and even bigger blow due to how beloved he is.
The Case Against
Despite the fact him dying here would be a heroic exit, it doesn't feel like Sandor Clegane's story is done. If anything, it feels like it's only just beginning again. He didn't get to do too much after his big comeback in Season 6, and the end of episode 5 was his first appearance since the Season 7 premiere. There, he was able to see into the flames, which is a big development for the character. That's yet to be explored further, and killing him off here reduces the chances of that. He's one of the most fascinating characters on the show, and there are other places to go with him. Plus, him dying before a reunion with his brother Gregor - whether a form of CleganeBowl happens or not - feels like a bit of a waste.
