14. Sam Leaves His Studies

Though we haven't seen anything of him in the two trailers released so far, we know that Sam will spend the start of Season 7 at the Citadel in the Oldtown training to be a maester under the tutelage of Jim Broadbent's archmaester.

He only stays there for five episodes, by the sound of it though, as Broadbent revealed he did one major scene in each of the five episodes he shot. Unless he died - and that's unlikely in the Citadel surely - that must mean he's no longer Sam's teacher.

Thanks to set pictures, we know he flees the Citadel and heads out of Oldtown...

Either that means Broadbent's archmaester drives him away, or something he learns does. The secret of how to defeat the Night's King? Jon's family secret? Or maybe some of his own family issues?

We also know the Tarlys are back, and they've made some powerful new friends. According to set pictures, they align with the Lannisters, turning their backs on the Tyrells (presumably in the belief that their fortunes will be favoured).
