Game Of Thrones Season 8: 10 Crucial Things That Must Happen

9. Tyrion Gets To Do... Something

Tyrion Lannister is one of the main victims of the show overtaking the books. When the showrunners were largely sticking to the source material, Tyrion - one of George R.R. Martin's favourites - was arguably the best character on the show. Through Seasons 1-4 he had the best lines, one of the strongest character arcs, a number of memorable moments, and was generally beloved by everyone.

Since then, however, he's been travelling with Varys, then travelling with Jorah, briefly met Daenerys, and then had to preside over Meereen while the Queen was absent. He still drinks but, despite what he says, he doesn't seem to know as much: Tyrion was once one of the shrewdest political players in the game, but he's made a string of bad decisions when he has been given the chance to actually have a part to play, and those opportunities have been few and far between.

For the final season, the showrunners need to get Tyrion's story back on track. Sure, he might not be as important as Jon and Daenerys, but he still needs to do something that harks back to the character we all fell in love with, whether that's betraying Dany or taking down Cersei.
