Sticking on the topic of Jaime and Cersei's death, the scene also calls to mind a couple of key bits of prophecy - one that made it into the show, and one that didn't.

Firstly, there's the promise that: "You'll be queen, for a time. Then comes another, younger, more beautiful, to cast you down and take all you hold dear." We did hear this in the Season 5 premiere, and while it initially looked like it could be Margaery, The Bells confirms that the younger, more beautiful queen is indeed Daenerys Targaryen, who takes not only King's Landing, but also Cersei's life, and the lives of Jaime and their unborn child too. In other words, all that Cersei holds dear.

The third part of Maggy's prophecy never made it into the show: "And when your tears have drowned you, the Valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you."

Despite its omission, fans have long used it as part of theorising who would kill Cersei. And while we don't get her death via the Valonqar here, which explains why they never included it, there is a nod towards it: Jaime's the most popular candidate after all, and as Cersei dies, he has his hands around her neck.
