Game Of Thrones Season 8: 12 Easter Eggs & References You Might've Missed In 'The Bells'

7. Aerys' Wildfire

While seeing King's Landing go up in flames wasn't much of a surprise, what was an unexpected addition to the chaos was the appearance of green flames alongside the orange, meaning there was some wildfire involved.

While it's not impossible that Cersei had more, the wildfire going off is seemingly accidental, which means that it's almost certainly from the stores the Mad King had. Aerys II had his pyromancers place caches of wildfire all over the city, from various buildings to people's homes.

Jaime Lannister killed him to prevent those explosions, but they'd still be there, and with the fire raining down they've finally been tapped into and torched, by the Mad King's daughter as she makes her apparent descent into madness herself.
