Game Of Thrones Season 8: 12 Easter Eggs & References You Might've Missed In 'The Bells'
8. Look At Me
The Hound and Arya get a touching final scene together in The Bells, with the Hound able to turn Arya away from her vengeful path. To start of this conversation, he grabs hold of her and says "Look at me!"
It's a nice callback to a moment between the Hound and another Stark, Sansa, during a different King's Landing battle, where he says "Look at me" and explains how the world is full of killers.
That itself, though, is a nod to the Hound and Sansa's relationship in the books, and the great scene from A Game of Thrones where he tells her the story of how Gregor burned him, telling her: "Look at me! Look at me!" It's a scene that sadly didn't make it into the show, although Rory McCann did read it for his audition (which you can watch below), and it all loops back around here as he says those three words one last time to explain who he is, why he has to kill his brother, and why Arya shouldn't be like him.
It all pays off with Arya calling him "Sandor", the first time anyone has actually spoken to him using his name in the whole series.
