Game Of Thrones Season 8: 7 Clues From Episode 5's Trailer

4. The Golden Company Actually Get Something To Do

Here we are, almost five episodes into the final season of Game Of Thrones, some four full episodes after we were told that Euron had gone to retrieve the Golden Company and you have to wonder why the hell they bothered introducing them at all.

So far, the Lannisters and Euron's part of the Iron Fleet have dealt manfully with whatever Dany has directly thrown at them, killing one of her dragons in the process without so much as a pat on the back from Harry Strickland.

It's beginning to look like they might not deserve their important billing, but that SHOULD change this episode as we're going to actually see them in battle. It's they who are lined up outside the city walls as Jon Snow's army arrives to do battle, rather than the Lannisters.

Let's hope this doesn't mean they're going to be no more than cannon fodder. It's a bit of a shame we've had precisely no opportunity to get to know Strickland (though there is something to be said for them being faceless weapons since it removes our ability to over-sympathise with Cersei's army and for once makes it clear who we're supposed to root for), but needs must?

Whatever the case of how much we get to know them before any battle, they're going to be a formidable foe and they look like a far bigger force than what Jon can call upon.
