Game Of Thrones Season 8: 7 Clues From Episode 5's Trailer
2. Euron's Fleet Will Burn
Euron's very possibly a dead man walking here. Well, a dead man floating, at least.
Consider how the trailer sets his part in the episode up. He's clearly interrupted going about his usual kinkster pirate duties with the Iron Born not talking among themselves. Everything is peaceful...
...Look how lovely and tranquil that is... Nothing could ever possibly go wrong there, could it? If you've watched even about 3 episodes of Thrones, you'd very much suspect immediately that something terrible was going to happen here.
Perhaps this will be the answer to why Dany didn't just have Drogon burn his ships when he shot Rhaegal down... Because the show had plans to have the dragon burn his and Cersei's entire fleet symbolically off the coast?
That certainly seems to be the suggestion from the dragon roar we hear at the end of the trailer and Euron's look of concern to the skies. He's going down - or at least his ships are.
So, why the certainty that the ships won't be a good line of defence this time out, despite the fact that they're mounted with scorpions? Well, because there's a very brief shot in the trailer that shows Lannister soldiers frantically loading a scorpion at the city walls, which means that Drogon has got past Euron and his heavy artillery.
That doesn't bode well for the sexy pirate king, but he probably should have thought about that when he killed Rhaegal so casually, shouldn't he?
