Game Of Thrones Season 8: 8 Clues From Episode 2's Trailer

1. The Battle Kicks Off

Jon Snow Winterfell
HBO

While it's not necessarily true that we're going to see a full pitched battle in episode two - partly because Jaime's arrival means things have to slow down before they can speed up - the trailer definitely suggests that the Stark and Targaryen alliance will be set scrambling to prepare for imminent attack.

We hear Jon Snow being told in voice-over that the wights are within a day of reaching them and there are some pointed shots of soldiers hurrying around. More worryingly, Jon can also be seen coming out of Winterfell looking concerned. Since this is daytime, it could be that this follows whatever combat mission he sends the Unsullied on. Could it be that we're getting a look there at Jon witnessing the fallout from sending that part of his army out to fight the White Walkers?

It would definitely fit with the show's penchant for stripping armies down as soon as they start to get too impressive and it's an easy way to ramp up drama too. The episode has been described as "play-like" in its intimacy and the idea of seeing the shot of Tyrion looking out over the ramparts of Winterfell and then a cut to the distance, where we see the dead horses legs appear in shot from the trailer would be the perfect way to end episode two.
