Game Of Thrones Season 8 Breakdown: What 'The Last Of The Starks' REALLY Means
9. Bronn Turns On Cersei
After sitting out the last two episodes, one of the show's true MVPs made his return in a very tense scene that seemed to be heading towards him killing one or both of the Lannister brothers. But that's not how things are set to go down, since Tyrion reminds the sellsword of his promise to pay him double whatever anyone offers him to kill his former Lord.
Bronn accepts, taking High Garden as his new seat (it's not like the Tyrells have any use for it now), much to Jaime's concern. It was, mercifully, never fully likely that Bronn would actually go through with killing at Cersei's command, but his commitment to his own gain always made it possible.
Strangely, Bronn's story might also now be done after this one scene, given that he tells Tyrion he won't be fighting in the Last War against Cersei. He's going to be watching, but in his own words his "fighting days are over."
