Game Of Thrones Season 8 Breakdown: What 'The Last Of The Starks' REALLY Means

10. Dany Has More Allies (And A Surprising Number Of Dothraki)

Dany War Room

Despite just having had to burn hundreds of her allies on pyres outside of Winterfell, Dany starts the episode in a strong position.

In something of a throw-away exchange, it is revealed that Yara Greyjoy has retaken the Iron Isles un the name of Dany and the new Prince of Dorne has pledged his support. You know, one of the only places left with an actual population of people these days. Those are both strong allies for Dany (though it would be nice to see Dornish soldiers actually involved).

More surprising is the fact that the Dothraki were not wiped out completely in the Battle Of Winterfell. They're mentioned a couple of times and the suggestion is that there are enough of them to form part of the army Jon takes South to King's Landing. Which is odd, since we saw only a couple run back from their disastrous cavalry drive at the Dead Army. Clearly, the reports of their total demise was greatly over-estimated.
