Game Of Thrones Season 8 Breakdown: What 'The Last Of The Starks' REALLY Means

7. Rhaegal Got Screwed

Game of Thrones Jon Rhaegal
HBO

Speaking of beloved fur babies avoiding death, Rhaegal made his return after seemingly being killed off last episode (well, until you watched the trailer for this one, anyway).and things did not go well for him.

Having literally just learned to fly again with holes in his wings from the fight with Viserion, the second of Dany's dragons was killed in a shocking turn of events when Euron's magically invisible fleet somehow managed to evade anyone's sight and sneak up on Dany's. On reflection, Jon saying why he didn't want to ride Rhaegal into battle should have been a major flag to the creature's untimely death.

With their newly-mounted scorpions, they proved too much for Rhaegal, who was brutally skewered and sent into the sea, dramatically damaging Dany's chances of simply flying to King's Landing and burning everything until Cersei is killed or gives up.

Seriously though, there is no way nobody sees Euron's ships coming. Dany is literally in the air - if Euron can see Rhaegal to be able to shoot him, Dany should be able to see him back. It's silly.
