Game Of Thrones Season 8 Breakdown: What 'The Last Of The Starks' REALLY Means
6. The Fleet Is Destroyed (Is There A Spy?)
On top of Rhaegal falling, Euron turns his scorpions on the Targaryen fleet, decimating them and sending Dany's forces back to Dragonstone on the tides. Yet again, we got a fake-out death scene as Tyrion took a mast to the head but somehow survived without a scratch. Missandei wasn't so lucky, though, ending up in captivity, somehow.
The thing we have to consider here is how the hell Euron knew to be where he was with his fleet at exactly the right time. Surely there has to be a spy in Dany's ranks? It's not the first time it's come up, but there's just no way Euron could possibly have pulled off that victory without knowing in advance exactly when he had to be hiding, in order to take down Rhaegal. It cannot be accidental and if it is, it's very, very bad writing.
Quite who it could be is anyone's guess at this stage.
