Game Of Thrones Season 8 Finale: 10 Ups And 3 Downs From 'The Iron Throne'

7. The Small Council

Game of Thrones Brienne Jaime White Book

With a new King, there's also a new Small Council, and it's made up of some of the biggest fan-favourites in the entire series. There's Davos as Master of Ships, Bronn as Master of Coin, Brienne as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Sam as Grand Maester, and Tyrion back as Hand of the King.

It's a great if odd collection, and it'd honestly be great to see them trying to rule.

To pick out just one single moment of this above all the others, we get to see Brienne writing Jaime Lannister's entry in the White Book of the Kingsguard, filling in his deeds of battling in The Long Night and then going to save his Queen. It's a beautifully touching sequence: Brienne gets so much of what she's always wanted, and yet has to write about that which caused her so much pain, and that she chooses to do so serves as a lovely capper on one of the show's greatest relationships.
