Game Of Thrones Season 8 Finale: Every Survivor's Ending Ranked Worst To Best

11. Drogon

When it became clear that Dany was going to have to die, pretty much everyone assumed that that meant that her pet nuclear weapon was going to have to go the same way. After all, Drogon's primary goal is basically to do whatever his mother tells him to while also making sure they both don't get killed.

In a fairly shocking twist of fate though, Drogon ended up surviving and getting one of the most emotional parts of the entire finale when he nudged the just-dead Dany with his snout, hoping to rouse her. There were full-on Mufasa vibes and you can't argue with the emotional authenticity of the scene.

What he did next is the big point of contention. It's fairly obvious that he destroyed the Iron Throne rather than killing Jon in revenge because the Throne was a symbol and his destruction of it was symbolic, but people who have accepted the presence of dragons and zombies and giants had a serious problem with the idea of an intelligent dragon, so there were lots of complaints. Idiotic ones.

The real problem with Drogon's ending is that he then simply flies away, leaving a big disturbing implication with wings flying around the Seven Kingdoms able to do whatever it wants. Which is never going to be a good idea.
