Game Of Thrones Season 8: Ranking Every Character Worst To Best

10. Tormund Giantsbane

Game of Thrones Tormund Jon Daenerys
HBO

Tormund has long been a fan-favourite supporting character, and the show really leaned into that in Season 8, for better or worse (your mileage may vary). He became one of the biggest sources of humour across the first four episodes, from "I've always had blue eyes" to tackling Jon, and, of course, all the drinking and revealing his giant backstory.

What we also got to see, underneath the hilarity, is a Wildling with a heart of gold: he's so genuine, caring, and actually decent that it's impossible not to like him. He gets a lot of great lines this season, but more importantly he gets to lead his people back beyond the Wall to live as truly Free Folk, be joined by his best friend, and have Ghost along for the ride (who doesn't get enough to do this season still, but is a good boy all the same).
