Game Of Thrones Season 8 Trailer: 6 Big Hints (& 7 Questions We Have)
2. The Battle Of Winterfell Clues
The Battle of Winterfell is going to be truly epic. It took 55 nights just to shoot the exterior scenes, and shooting continued inside for another few weeks after that. It is, according to Miguel Sapochnik, the longest consecutive battle ever shown on screen, outstripping even Lord of the Rings' Helm's Deep.
We learn a few details about the battle here. It's clear there's going to be a lot of fire, which is smart since that kills wights, although it might not necessarily come from dragons, who aren't anywhere to be seen at this moment (which is actually understandable, because it'd be hard to make sure you're only taking out enemies from up high).
We see what appears to be Brienne slashing at enemies, Jaime right in the heat of the action, Jon running through the battle, the Hound amidst the flames, and Arya twirling a spear, while there's also Jorah leading the line and getting people organised, Pod next to Brienne as they prepare for the attack, and Grey Worm ready for the fight too. There are still plenty of characters we haven't seen, but those named - along with the likes of Tormund and Beric - are going to be leading the charge against the undead at Winterfell.
