21. Arya Running Through Battle Of Winterfell

The point of the trailer is basically to send us all into a state of panic for the next few weeks, and there are few better ways of accomplishing that than by having a bloodied Arya Stark frantically running around Winterfell.

It's a thrilling way to kick off the trailer, instantly telling us that things aren't going well for our heroes this year (not that they ever really have), while also calling back to Arya running through the Red Keep chasing cats way back in Season 1 and showing just how far she's come.

We know there's a big battle coming at Winterfell, and that it's going to focus on a number of different characters at a time, with each having their own story playing out within the larger whole. Arya is obviously a part of that, and this is a great glimpse of the journey she goes on during the sequence.

She's presumably being chased by wights and/or a White Walker (she has her Valyrian steel dagger), but might she also be luring it into a trap? She knows Winterfell better than they do, after all, and she'd still be frightened and in danger, but with a plan at least. As well as Season 1, this chase sequence echoes her fleeing from the Waif, which ultimately led to her enemy's death, so it's a tactic that's worked before, although she never looked quite as scared then.
