Game Of Thrones Season 8 Trailer Breakdown: 21 Things You Need To See
20. Many Faces
"I know death. He's got many faces. I look forward to seeing this one."
In an instant, the trailer makes you go from heart-racing panic over the fate of Arya Stark, to fist-pumping cheers over her complete badassery. If the first part was Arya, then this is where the 'No One' in her shines back through, with that Faceless Man training paying off.
The big question, of course, is just who she is talking to as she brandishes that dragonglass dagger. Instant speculation suggested Cersei, except that's a huge thing to give away in a trailer, or similar to that, the Mountain. That's another name off her list, and nicely subverts expectations for CleganeBowl. But again, it might be too early: quite possibly, she's simply imagining saying it to one of them, since Arya will be torn between her new self and her old revenge mission.
The most plausible explanation is even more simple though, which is that it's something she says when she learns of what's coming. Since we've heard so many times that 'death is coming', and Arya wants to show she isn't scared, it'd be a fitting response, and a nice juxtaposition for her fear when death actually arrives. And since she's likely learning od death coming and holding some dragonglass, this should also mean it's part of an even bigger scene: a reunion with Jon.
