10. Lord Commander Ned Stark

First thing's first, what would Ned have done instead? Well, it's stated in the show that Ned should've been given the opportunity to take the black and join the Night's Watch. It would've still been an unjust end for him, but it's better than a traitor's death at the Sept of Baelor. Ned would've very quickly risen in the Night's Watch, mainly populated by Northmen, and if Jon Snow could rise to the Lord Commander position so quickly, then Ned would've certainly stood a chance. Jon and Ned's adventures at the Wall could've been amazing to watch, though Jon may never have been allowed to venture beyond the Wall and subsequently become part of the wildling forces, befriend Ygritte, and return with warnings of their intentions.
