Game Of Thrones: 10 Awesome Characters We Haven't Met Yet

6. Young Griff

When Tyrion Lannister is forced to flee King€™s Landing, Illyrio Mopatis sends him off to seek out Daenerys Targaryen. While on his journey there aboard the Shy Maid, he meets a man named Griff, along with his younger companion, a boy with blue hair named Young Griff. Eventually Tyrion realizes that Young Griff, and everyone aboard, is hiding a revelatory secret. The boy is in fact Aegon Targaryen, son of the deceased Prince Rhaegar and Elia Martell. This revelation is huge. All this time we were led to believe that Aegon was killed by Gregor Clegane and his men during the Sack of King's Landing. It turns out Varys helped smuggle him out in time; replacing him with another child. Since then he has been living across the Narrow Sea, learning the ways of a king through his adoptive father figure Jon Connington. He is intelligent, but also eager to prove himself a true Targaryen and reclaim the Iron Throne. The fact that Aegon is alive completely changes the dynamic of the power struggle at the center of the story. Even Daenerys's claim to the throne is now in question, so who knows how that will play out. Plus, seeing Tyrion mentoring Aegon a bit during their travels is just great material.
