Game Of Thrones: 10 Awesome Characters We Haven't Met Yet

7. The Kindly Man

In the world of Ice and Fire, there are few characters as cryptic as the Kindly Man. Yes, he doesn€™t have a name, and that is because he doesn€™t have an identity. He is a Faceless Man from the House of Black and White. Located in Braavos, it is the headquarters of the Guild of the Faceless Men, a religious order of assassins who worship the Many-Faced God, also known as the god of death. When Arya arrives there to train, she is greeted by this mysterious priest. His voice is sweet and soft, yet when he reveals his face to her, it is nothing more than a decaying, yellow skull with rotting meat hanging off of it. It even has a worm wriggling through his eye sockets. Despite this terrifying image, Arya wisely understands that he can change his face and sees through the illusion, after which he changes his face to that of, well, a kindly old man. Upon being accepted into the guild for training, he becomes her mentor and trainer, forcing her to abandon all that remains of her identity. This character is our first deep look into the world of the Faceless Men. Through his training of Arya, he gives us a peak into the thinking and philosophy of this intriguing order. Other than his first appearance, he isn€™t the most flashy of characters, but certainly a memorable one.
