5. Cersei's Walk Of Penance

It'll be interesting to see where audiences stand in judgment when this event happens as Cersei's character has been softened a bit from the version of her in the books. Perhaps it's the showrunners' way of creating a more complicated character for a television series. Sometimes in TV you need to soften edges as your own personal imagination is left by the wayside more so than when reading a book. Or we could maybe chalk it up to Lena Headey's beautiful portrayal of a powerful woman vying for her just due in a man's world. Basically, King's Landing is thrown into turmoil in the wake of Joffrey's and Tywin's death along with Tyrion's escape. Cersei uses the moment to seize more power for herself. She begins refusing to pay previous Lannister debts (A Lannister ALWAYS pays their debts) thus alienating her further. She fills all positions of prominence with shady people she assumes are on her side and unfolds a plot to frame the Tyrell's for misdeeds and force House Dorne under her thumb. All of these ploys fail and Cersei is arrested for crimes against the Kingdom. Before she stands trial she is forced to perform a "penance walk" from the Great Sept of Baelor to the Red Keep where she'll be held awaiting her trial. Cersei is completely shaved from head to toe and stripped naked and forced to march before the entire city and their ridicule. The last we've seen of Cersei she's still awaiting her trial and plotting, still plotting...
