Game Of Thrones: 10 Characters We Didn't Want To Like

7. Margaery Tyrell

When first we meet Margaery Tyrell, she is on the arm of Renly Baratheon as his wife and queen, and...yeah, we all felt a little bit bad for her. Her attempted seduction of her husband is fairly awkward for those of us who weren't distracted by Natalie Dormer's sudden nakedness, and the secondhand embarrassment is brutal. Really, she feels like something of an unwitting victim to Renly's and Loras's scheming for the throne as she tries to rouse her unresponsive husband. That is, she feels like an unwitting victim until she surprises Renly--and us--by revealing that she's completely aware of his relationship with her brother and perfectly willing to bring him into the mix if that would be what Renly needed to consummate the marriage. After all, as she later tells Littlefinger, she wants to be the queen, and nothing secures the safety of a queen like the production of an heir and a spare. Renly's death is a minor setback, but she soon recovers to become engaged to Joffrey Baratheon, and it does not take her very long in King's Landing to win the favor of the people...and influence over the king, adding an intriguing new element to the goings-on at the capital. Also, it's pretty darn satisfying to see how much Cersei hates Margaery.
