There are few characters in the history of Game Of Thrones who are as unfortunate as Theon Greyjoy. After betraying Robb Stark in season two, Theon realigns with his blood relatives and takes control of the Starks' home in Winterfell. However, he is soon double-crossed by his own men and handed over to the vicious and sadistic Ramsay Snow. During the course of the third season, Theon is subjected to unimaginable torture by Snow. The campaign of violence culminates in Snow tricking Theon into believing he is being seduced by a pair of beautiful women. He then enters the room and cuts off Theon's notoriously large penis, completely emasculating him. The torture scenes are incredibly punishing to watch thanks to excellent performances from Iwan Rheon as Ramsay and Alfie Allen as an increasingly pathetic Theon. Torture and genetic mutilation is always genuinely horrifying to see on screen and Game Of Thrones is no exception, particularly given the level of joy it seems to bring to Ramsay.
