Game Of Thrones: 10 Things That Could Kill A Giant

What warriors and beings of Westeros would have the power, skill and speed to defeat a Giant in combat?

So €˜The Watchers on The Wall€™ is in the books and - unlike every other ninth episode to date - people will likely be split about whether or not the Neil Marshall-directed episode was a success. With a Metacritic rating of 91%, this is technically the lowest rated episode of this incredible season, despite still doing very well critically. Some people were blown away by the cinema-quality action, deft pacing and intensity while others were disappointed that the single-perspective we were given meant that we didn€™t get to see favourites like Tyrion or Daenerys. In our opinion the episode was an unequivocal success; spending a full hour along The Wall was highly immersive and the action was utterly enthralling. Though it would have been nice to have seen the aftermath of Oberyn€™s death and Tyrion€™s plight, €˜The Watchers on The Wall€™ was a superb episode. We saw Alliser Thorne finally show some signs of redemption, Samwell Tarly kicking ass and the highly moving deaths of Pyp, Grenn and Ygritte. Oh €“ and the Scythe. After being teased with a glimpse of them at the start of the third season, we witnessed the Giants of the Free Folk in a battle situation - rather than just carrying around bundles of timber. Though seeing one of their number using his suitably large bow to demolish a luckless soldier on The Wall was amazing, the massive creatures didn€™t really have the impact on the battle we had expected. Tormund and his men behind enemy lines seemed to be a far bigger threat. We saw one Giant impaled by a huge bolt and the other killed by Grenn and a small squadron of men. Though Giants will likely have a larger impact in the subsequent sieges by the Free Folk, their disappointing performance in €˜The Watchers on The Wall€™ has got us thinking of what other warriors and beings of Westeros would have the power, skill and speed to defeat a Giant in combat? Here are the 10 things which could kill a Giant:
