Game Of Thrones: 10 Things We Learned From “Two Swords”

10. Jaime Has Given Up His Inheritance

Fully refreshed after his return to King€™s Landing, Jaime stops by to chat with his father. Tywin gives Jaime a new sword that was melted down and forged from Ned Stark€™s great-sword Ice. Despite losing his right hand, Jaime is determined to train his left hand to become a better swordsman, which will be necessary in his new position as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Unfortunately for Jaime, Tywin has differen plans in mind for him. He orders Jaime to go to Casterly Rock to rule in his stead. Jamie refuses, saying he doesn€™t want a castle, wife or children; he just wants to serve the king. Tywin relents and allows Jaime to continue his duties, but disowns him in the process. Tywin has always been a man who gets what he wants, so it€™s understandable that he€™s angry with Jaime. For all he€™s done to gain power and instill €œorder€ in the kingdom, it€™s ironic that his own son refused his wishes. Jaime has ulterior motives for staying at King€™s Landing, namely to be around his sister/bed buddy Cersei, but that doesn€™t negate that it will be awkward being around his father. Expect that there will be more conflicts between them this season.
