Game Of Thrones: 10 Things We Learned From “Two Swords”
5. Sansa Has A New Admirer
Like her sister, Sansa is also being held captive, but in a different way. Now married to Tyrion, shes still stuck in Casterly Rock under the tight watch of Joffrey and the Lannisters. Still upset over the deaths of her mother and brother, she refuses to eat and spends most of her time alone. Tyrion does his best to comfort her, but she wont listen to him and promptly excuses herself. While walking to the godswood to seek solitude, she notices that shes being followed. Her follower turns out to be Ser Dontos, a knight who Sansa saved from being killed by Joffrey. Despite being stripped of his title and being made the kings fool, Dontos thanks Sansa for saving his life and gives her a necklace that belonged to his grandmother. Also in this episode, Brienne insisted that Jaime make good on his promise to Catelyn Stark and help free Sansa. Jaime feels that the promise is now void considering most of her family is dead and shes now married to Tyrion, thereby making her a Lannister. With Kings Landing her permanent home, Sansa doesnt have many people she can trust. Dontos motivations may extend beyond mere gratitude, but for the moment, at least she has an ally to turn to.
