8. Barristan Selmy Storms Out Of King's Landing
The new council with Joffrey as king are setting about reshuffling certain aspects of the kingdom's forces and notifying a packed court of the changes. These changes include removing Ser Barristan Selmy from his post as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and replacing him with Cersei's brother Jaime, which he is none too happy about. He protests, saying that he took his vows for life, and that only death can end his tenure. The queen simply mocks him, asking "Whose death, Ser Barristan?" Furious, he strips some of his armour off (at which point Littlefinger pokes fun at him too) and draws his sword; some knights in front of him prepare theirs, ready to fight. Ser Barristan then utters the immortal Game of Thrones line: "Even now, I could cut through the five of you like carving a cake!". He throws down his sword and storms out of the courtroom, never to be seen again...
