Game Of Thrones: 4 Great Parodies To Watch Before Season 4

1. The RPG

Got0 In the world of gaming, the fantasy genre to which Game of Thrones belongs is synonymous with the role-playing game (RPG), a genre that typically features a band of heroes undertaking quests and fighting both villains and monsters with swords and sorcery. A number of Game of Thrones RPG's have been developed for assorted platforms over the last few years, both officially and unofficially. Most have either failed to attract a wide audience or been critically panned, but there is one game that has gone down a treat with both fans of the show and fans of the RPG genre in general. Sadly, there's a catch, in that it doesn't exist as a game, per se, but as a pair of videos (one each for seasons one and two, thus far). Created by CollegeHumor, the Game of Thrones RPG imagines the show as a 16-bit title in the vein of titles such as the early Final Fantasy series (one entry from which, Final Fantasy Tactics, actually centres on seven kingdoms, for which a series of individuals, groups and alliances scheme and vie for political control of). It depicts a number of events in a nonsensical yet laugh out loud way, including Danaerys' seduction of Khal Drogo (which is shown as a DDR style minigame), Tyrion using quips in the middle of battle (which leads to him evolving, Pokemon style, into the audience's favourite character) and the Riot of Kings Landing (which sees the royal party seemingly engaging in a game of Frogger). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hftnySHVnF0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63lE2ns_vUY The site has also done RPG versions of other cult shows, including Breaking Bad, Lost, The Wire and Doctor Who, all of which are certainly worth a viewing.
