Game Of Thrones: 5 Best Moments From 'Two Swords'

5. Jon's Trial

Jon Snow has always been a downer of a character, and for good reason. He€™s a bastard of the North with nothing to inherit. He€™s a brother of the Night€™s Watch, which, while honourable, isn€™t exactly the most comfortable of existences. Even more recently, he betrayed and left the woman he loves. He doesn€™t exactly have a lot to be happy about, so he can be forgiven for not cracking a smile very often. All that being said, it was positively startling to see Jon stand up for himself with confidence and wit. He so rarely cracks jokes, so it was awesome seeing him take a shot at the slimy Janos Slynt. Remember him? He was Lord Commander of the City Watch before Tyrion sent him to the Wall for betraying Ned Stark and killing babies on Joffrey's orders. Now he€™s at the Wall, and will no doubt cause trouble for Jon. Given how reprehensible his character is, it was cheer-worthy seeing Jon call him out. We know he is right, and we experience his same frustration as Slynt and Alliser Thorne refuse to acknowledge this because of a close-minded grudge. Getting that one shot in there makes it a bit sweeter. This scene is just the beginning of the conflict between Thorne/Slynt and Jon, and with a massive wildling army marching ever closer, Jon will have to show them the way and become a leader if they are going to survive.
