Game Of Thrones: 5 Winners & 5 Losers In 'Oathkeeper'

The Winners:

5. Brienne

The Maid of Tarth has been knocking around the capital for a few episodes now, sticking out awkwardly, trying to avoid Cersei, and not really knowing what to do with herself. She€™s evidently the type of person who is most at ease when she has a task to complete, or a liege-lord to serve. Thankfully, Jaime Lannister takes it upon himself to assign her a new quest, which is really just a re-configuring of her old quest: to seek out Sansa Stark and bring her home to her family, or as the case is now: just get her to safety, wherever that may be. Now that she has a purpose again, Brienne will be back in her element, which is also good news for us, the viewers, as we just want to see her crushing skulls and taking names. There€™s a material victory in here as well, as Brienne is now the proud new owner of a newly forged Valyrian-steel sword, and a suit of armour befitting her stature. Upon gifting her the sword, Jaime tells her that it was forged from the steel of Ned Stark€™s old blade, so there€™s a certain poetry to her applying its use to saving his daughter. She names it Oathkeeper, in honour of her vow to Lady Catelyn.
