Game Of Thrones: 5 Winners And 5 Losers From 'Two Swords'

1. Qyburn

This week's ultimate winner turns out to be the guy with the least screen time (no, we haven't actually tallied it up). Qyburn, the disgraced ex-Maester who was stripped of his chains for practicing unethical experiments on live subjects, appears briefly in one scene attaching a newly made golden hand to Jaime's stump. It's the comments made after he leaves the room however, that really bode well for his future prospects. In the short time that he's been in King's Landing, Qyburn has managed to make an impression on the one person you need to impress in order get anywhere at court: Cersei Lannister. Whilst her father may hold the real power of the realm, Cersei is the puppet master of the capital's social political scene. The influence that she wields generates real traction within the scope of those close to the leading family; in other words, if Cersei likes you, it's hard for others to touch you, and it's a safe bet that you'll gain something from the reference in a material sense (better job, favour-for-favour, instant cash prize etc). Of course, Qyburn's new found status is hostage to Cersei keeping a firm two hands on her own power, but for the time being, he's carved out a decent slice of the pie for himself €“ especially considering how we first met him: abandoned with the dead when the Mountain deserted Harrenhal.
