Game Of Thrones: 7 Characters Who've Changed Beyond Recognition

4. Cersei Lannister

The moment in season one in which Cersei meets Ned's accusations of incest with a curt admission and an infamous title drop is one of the most memorable scenes in the series . Cersei was a cold and calculating force on the show, conspiring to get her son into power and acting through him when she succeeded, but that woman seems to have evaporated with the arrival of Margaery Tyrell. Even Jaime, whose love for her is undiminished, mentions her burgeoning alcoholism, and she increasingly seems to have lost control. Lena Headey squeezes every drop of bitterness out of Cersei's lines as she complains about everything from the Tyrells to Jaime's absence to Myrcella's departure. She's long since ceased to be a formidable player of the political chess of Westeros, but the opening episode of season four implies that Cersei still has a long way to fall.
