Game Of Thrones: 7 Characters Who've Changed Beyond Recognition

3. Jon Snow

Jon Snow reminisces about his time as a bastard son in Winterfell in this episode in remembrance of his brother Robb, but his memories are those of a childhood which is long behind him. Kit Harington has occasionally seemed almost too boyish for the role, especially as Jon has been aged up from the books and has matured since his time with the wildlings, but this week Jon's weariness was palpable as he faced trial for his betrayal of the Night's Watch. It's been easy to dismiss Jon, as he's almost as far removed from the main action as Daenerys and is somewhat blander than a warrior queen with three dragons, but his limited screen time in this episode nonetheless makes an impact. He treats Sam courteously but without warmth, which increases the distance in their friendship, and then freely admits to the tribunal that he broke his vows and earns himself a reprieve from Maester Aemon. As events on the Wall come to a head, he's one to watch closely this season.
