10. Mace Tyrell
Often mentioned but never seen, Mace Tyrell is the father to Loras and Margaery; a powerful man who sits in the safety of Highgarden ordering others to command his army. He brags about achievements not of his own and takes credit for others battle victories. Just ask Randall Tarly. Mace has the political savvy of Neds head maybe even worse and is very oblivious to everything around him to the extent that he may not even know his son is homosexual. His lack of intelligence is often the butt of all jokes from everyone, especially his own mother Olenna Tyrell. While he lacks that, he makes up for it by being a kind and likable Lord his generosity is respected by his bannermen and children, and his biggest dream has always been to see Margaery become a queen. Mace arrives in Kings Landing to finally witness his dream come true. Margaery is to be wed to King Joffery in an extravagant wedding that the Tyrells pay for. His presence there is similar to Ned Starks a kind and honest man made a fish out of water. Only Mace has the powerful backing of his mother, his large army, and his soon-to-be queen daughter. Remember the vocal beat-down Olenna gave to Tyrion and Tywin? Now imagine what she can do against someone with a fraction of their abilities. Watching the bumbling oaf fail to fit in at Kings Landing should be hilarious. Seeing him try to match the cunning and savvy sharks in King's Landing will be a rude awakening. They are going to run circles around him when he arrives.
