Game Of Thrones Season 4: 20 Most Eye-Catching Moments So Far

16. Oathkeeper

Tywin must be a happy man. He has defeated both Stannis Baratheon and Robb Stark, made marriage arrangements with the second wealthiest house in Westeros, and his prized son has returned. Here Tywin looks to be giving Jaime a sword, no doubt one of many means of celebration of Lannister victory. However, we know Jaime isn€™t the man Tywin wants him to be, so don€™t expect him to put it to use in the way his father expects.

15. Giant At The Gate

At first glance you might think this is merely a man ramming into a gate. But look closer and pay attention to his size relative to the environment, and you€™ll see that this is actually a giant. We saw one at the beginning of season 3 as part of Mance Rayder€™s wildling army. We know Mance plans on attacking the wall in order to get south, so it€™s safe to say that what we are seeing is a giant attempting to break through a gate under the wall. Of course, this is only a glimpse into what is sure to be the biggest battle of the series to date. Just make sure to get the popcorn ready. It€™s going to be a doozy.

14. Winter Wonderland

Sansa Stark has been trapped at King€™s Landing since since the beginning of the show. A captive of the Lannisters, she€™s been humiliated and abused countless times. Just when things start to look up for her, it always proceeds to get worse. Since she€™s been in this position for so long, it is very startling to see a glimpse of her in an explicitly different environment. The most notable detail of course is that there appears to be snow. Where could she be? How did she get out of King€™s Landing? Sansa has been stuck in limbo for a while, used as a pawn by various houses, so her getting out of there is a significant step in the development of her character. Should be exciting to see where she goes next.

13. Jaime's Golden Hand

Jaime getting his hand chopped off was one of many shocking moments in season 3. It was the catalyst to the change in our perception of the character. Jaime is defined by his sword wielding abilities, so taking that away changed him, causing him to reassess his life. Here Jaime is having a new hand fitted where his old one used to be. This replacement hand made of pure gold establishes his attempt to do right by his past mistakes, and it will be interesting to see how he develops further down this nobler path in season 4.
